Key Steps to connect to Natural Gas

  1. You need to ensure that natural gas is available in your street /location (Maps are available from the Multinet website) or contact Alinta on 1300 131 689 (Business Hours).
  2. You will need to choose a gas retailer and enter into a supply contract with them. You can ring 1300 131 689 (Business hours) for further information on their contact details or visit the ESC website for a licensed gas retailer.
  3. Your gas retailer will coordinate with Alinta Asset Management the installation of the gas service line to your property.
  4. You will need to arrange a qualified gas fitter to assess the suitability of your appliances or install new appliances and a fitting line to take natural gas supply.
  5. Your gas fitter will coordinate with your gas retailer to arrange for Alinta Asset Management to install the gas meter once you are ready to connect.
  6. Your gas fitter will arrange final connection with Alinta Asset Management, which will include testing prior to commissioning.
  7. Once this process is completed, a request for a rebate (up to maximum $600 for conversion and $400 for new appliances- Max $1000 per property) can be made to Alinta for a rebate to be paid (with all appropriate paperwork). Refer to Incentives
