The recruitment process
1. Application phase – once you have decided to apply for a career at MG, you can apply online. You should receive a conformation on submission of your application.
2. Shortlisting – once the hiring manager has shortlisted the applicants, a recruitment representative will contact the shortlisted pool. This will entail a short telephone screen which is designed to better understand your background and what you are looking for.
3. First round interview – From the shortlist the hiring manager will review the phone screens and proceed to selecting candidates for a face to face interview. This will include a range of behavioural and competency based questions to assess the candidate fit.
4. Psychometric Testing – Candidates who are considered further beyond the first round interview will be contacted to complete psychometric testing. This involves a maximum of three tests which are completed by candidates in their own homes and on their PC.
5. Second Round Interview – Candidates who have been invited for a second round interview are generally greeted by other peers or managers. Follow up questions by the hiring manager are often included.
6. Third Round Interview – A role may at times reach a third round interview. This is more of a meet and greet of other peers and manager.
7. Reference Checks – The recruitment representative may ask for a candidates references as a final step in the process prior to a making an offer. This will require two references which are external to UE and MG existing employees.
8. Offer – Once all the steps are completed and the hiring manager makes their decision and offer is communicated by the recruitment representative.

Graduate Programs:
- Gas Engineering – access to Gas Asset Management rotations, Service Delivery, H S & E as well as corporate functions such as Regulatory.
Engineering Vacation Program
Our summer Vacation Program is designed for students who are in their second last year of university.
It enables you to gain practical skills and knowledge through real life projects and tasks that our engineers are currently working on. Here you will gain firsthand experience and see what working in one of Victoria’s distribution business’s is like.
The 12 week paid vacation program is an excellent opportunity for students to get their foot in the door, and is a gateway to the Graduate Program.
To become a vacation student with MG you’ll need to be able to work in a team, be forward thinking and resonate with our company values.
Our work experience program
Multinet Gas welcomes work experience students from years 10, 11 and 12 who have an interest in learning more about working in the energy industry, particularly gas distribution.
Students have the opportunity to work in a variety of departments and our program is tailored to each student so we can provide the most beneficial experience possible.
